Just One Bad Century

What will you find if you go to "Just One Bad Century" this week?

Your first stop should be to the award-winning Souvenir Shop for the finest Cubs-related merchandise and memorablia. Look, we've got a brand new shirt flying off the shelves: "Losing is soooo last century".....

Then, of course, comes the content...

THIS WEEK IN 1908. This week we highlight the #1 story in Chicago's newspapers 100 years ago. It was the epidemic of "white slavery." Read all the sordid details at the link.

GREAT NICKNAMES
This week we feature a man who was called "Circus" by his teammates because of the circus-like catches he made in centerfield. He was a key member of the Cubs dynasty from 100 years ago.

TALES FROM A BAD CENTURY. Why have the Cubs been terrible for the last 40 plus years? Look no further than the horrible attempts at drafting future stars. Their record is second to none in this department. All the gruesome details are at the link.

Coming up later this week...

Every Thursday at Just One Bad Century we celebrate the 70s and 80s--a time of bad teams and great mustaches. This week's mustache belongs to a catcher from the mid-70s. Be sure to check out his GREAT MUSTACHE.

On Friday, SIGHTS AND SOUNDS will feature a collection of real gems. We've got play-by-play audio of a Cubs-Dodgers game from 1957 (Koufax was pitching for the Dodgers), a song the Beach Boys recorded for the Cubs in 1984, and would you believe, an entire Punky Brewster episode that takes place at Wrigley Field.

Also, be sure to check out this week's JOBC Fan of the Week. This week we're featuring WDRV's Bobby Skafish.
