As someone who writes for magazines, I like to keep an eye on the business. But apparently I haven't been watching too closely because I was very surprised by two stories I saw in the news this morning.
Did you know that Woman's World is about to top People Magazine? Me neither. I guess I'm not in the demo.
Also, The Week, which essentially reports the news of the previous week-- a concept that is considered to be on life support at Newsweek, Time and US News & World Report-- is doing gangbusters business. Circulation is up huge, advertising is up double digits, and it's doing very well on the web too.
It's nice to see that even in an uncertain climate, if you do it right, you will still be rewarded.
