Da Bears on the radio

I listened to most of the Bears game on the radio yesterday while I was raking leaves, and I have one observation to make.

The number of commercials and live reads that WBBM-AM crams into those broadcasts is insane. They've got the play-by-play man and the analyst doing live reads during huddles, often rushing to complete the copy before the team gets to the line of scrimmage.

It totally ruins the game as far as I'm concerned. It's like the audio equivalent of a NASCAR race car.

I know I predicted this would happen in my book "$everance," but once again, let me point out that "$everance" was supposed to be satire. Every time something like this actually comes true, it makes my book less funny.

Please stop it.
