Newsweek and the Daily Beast

It was rumored a few weeks ago that the Daily Beast and Newsweek were going to merge. Then both publications announced that talks had broken off, and it wasn't going to happen.

But they obviously continued to negotiate out of the public eye, because they sealed the deal yesterday. Here are the details, from the new editor of both publications, Tina Brown.
