Remember the song from the early 70s by a group called Stealers Wheel? Their big hit song was "Stuck in the middle with you," and the chorus was "Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, Stuck in the middle with you."
I've been thinking about that song this past week while I was reading the news. In the past week San Francisco has banned Happy Meals (clowns to the left of me), and Oklahoma has passed a law banning Sharia Law (jokers to the right). Those have to be among the most embarrassing laws in American history.
Both extreme sides of the political spectrum are completely nuts.
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
