The cassette breathes it's last breath

From this morning's RAMP (Radio and Music Professionals) newsletter...

"Another day, another story about technology that makes us feel old -- this time, it's the news that cassette decks aren't available anymore as a factory-installed option in cars. Despite a run that lasted a couple of decades, The New York Times reported that no new car sold in the U.S. will either include a tape player as standard equipment or offer it as an option -- surprisingly, the last car to do so was the 2010 Lexus SC 430... "Lexus was the last holdout," Phil Magney, VP of Auto Research for tech-industry analysis company IHS iSuppli Corporation, told the Times. "We actually stopped tracking cassette players in cars some time ago. Now the question the automakers are asking is, how long has the CD got to go?"

I've only got one working cassette deck in the house, myself. And to be honest, the only cassettes I've got left are old airchecks from my radio career. I suppose I should transfer a few of those, but then the question is: Transfer them to what?
