I read just about every radio trade publication to keep in touch with my former business, and I haven't reported this news here yet, but there can be no denying that things are looking up for the radio business again.
Advertising is usually one of the last things to return after a recession (or in this case, a super-duper-recession or a depression or whatever you want to call it), but it's definitely coming back after three of the grimmest years I've ever seen.
Radio stocks are up, Quarterly earnings are up, radio stations are beginning to be bought and sold again, and they've even begun tentatively hiring again.
I suspect they'll never return to former staffing levels completely, and the huge debt bubbles are still hanging over many companies, but I'm happy to report that there is some good news out there over the past few months.
