Geezers Rule TV

Have you noticed that characters on television shows are getting slightly older? It's true, and there's a good reason for that. Television viewers are getting slightly older. The Baby Boomers, still by the far the largest segment of American society, are aging out of the demo. The oldest ones are becoming senior citizens this year, and the youngest ones (like me) are 47.

Television is finally making an adjustment for the geezer-ization of America.

The Wall Street Journal has a very good article about it this morning.

I've been arguing for years that radio should do this, but so far, nada. As far as radio is concerned, once you turn 55, you're worthless to them.
