It looks like the Cubs did it. They bypassed Ryno as manager and hired Mike Quade.
Part of me feels queasy because Ryno did everything they asked of him. You won't find many Hall of Famers willing to work their way up from the very bottom of the minor leagues like he did. He proved he could manage too--he had success at every level. It seemed like it was his turn, and I don't blame him at all for being upset.
But part of me is relieved, because this Cubs team is going to suck next year, and I really wouldn't feel right booing Ryno.
