Huffington Post Stops Using Unpaid Writers

This is a huge change for the Huffington Post. They have decided to stop using unpaid contributors. Since it began, unpaid writers have made a significant contribution to the Huffington Post. (They currently have more than 100,000 of them).

They published one of my pieces about ten years ago, and didn't pay me. They wanted to publish a bunch of my Just One Bad Century stuff after that, and I said no way. Their pitch was always "but we give you great exposure!" I tried to use that exposure to pay my mortgage. Apparently the banks don't accept that as payment anymore.
