The people running the current marketing for Oreo's are geniuses. During the Super Bowl power outtage they tweeted a brilliant ad that went viral. They obviously created it on the spot--there's no way they could have prepared for the blackout. (Unless...they caused the blackout. Hmmmm.)
It may have started a whole new advertising trend.
I've begun to watch my twitter feed during big events to see how people are reacting, and I'm certainly not alone. There are millions doing the same thing. It's really a great way to supplement the event, believe it or not. There were tons of hilarious comments during the Super Bowl blackout. The best tweets were re-tweeted thousands of times. The Oreo tweet was retweeted more than 15,000 times.
And the price was right.
