A few details have come out over the past few days about who will be manning the airwaves and calling the shots at the new country music station in Chicago (95.5 FM). The main players are coming from St. Louis. The RAMP Newsletter gave them a big write up this morning...
Steve Stewart has been named PD of iHeartMedia's brand new Chicago Country station, WNUA (Big 95.5), effective immediately. "This is the job everyone waits for... launching a BIG station in a huge market," said a clearly enthused Stewart. "I can't be more excited to lead this team in what is a historic station launch of the New Big 95.5!"...Stewart will be taking a couple of buddies along on his Chicago adventure -- current KSD/St. Louis afternoon stars Mason and Remy will also be relocating to Chicago to host mornings on Big 95.5, beginning January 20. The guys have longstanding ties to the Chicago area and first met while working in Bloomington, IL earlier in their careers. In a joint statement, Mason and Remy said, "We are beyond grateful for the opportunities we've been afforded with the team at iHeartMedia and can't wait for this next step in our careers with Big 95.5. We both visit Chicago regularly and have friends and family in the area so we're really looking forward to BIG things." Stewart added, "These are two of the brightest and most talented talents in our industry today. I'm proud of the success they have achieved and look forward to continue working with them on the future success of Big 95.5." Mason and Remy will continue to do their afternoon show on KSD as part of an expanded role in the company.
Mornings in Chicago and afternoons in St. Louis. Shouldn't be a problem for talented talents.
