I realized the other day that I didn't step foot in a movie theater in 2014. That has to be the first year I haven't gone to a theater since I was too young to attend movies. Apparently, I'm not alone.
According to this piece in the Hollywood Reporter, 53% of Americans don't go at all because of high ticket prices. That's not the reason I don't go. Bridget just doesn't enjoy going to movies, and I haven't been motivated enough by the stuff Hollywood produces lately to go by myself. Also, since On Demand has become part of my cable package, I can see new movies pretty soon after they come out, and I don't have to leave the house.
