“Steve is cheering for the Cubs and continues to be a Cubs fan. He just wants everybody, moving forward, to respect his privacy and let his life continue to unfold as the grand plan has it. Get it? Just leave him alone. If the Cubs win it all, he will be happy. Probably happier than most of us. But he really doesn't need to help the rest of Cubs nation alleviate their collective guilt.
