The Guardian has an interview with one of the world's foremost climate science experts. He's 88, and seems to be a personally cheerful guy, yet his forecast for our future is about as depressing as anything I've ever read on the subject.
Oh, and he says it's already too late to stop it. In 20 years max, you know what will hit the fan.

LATE UPDATE: I just read another article/interview with the same guy and it sounds TOTALLY different. In this one he says he may have been too alarmist in the past.
I really don't blame anyone for their confusion on this matter. If you want justification for your opinion, you can find it.
