This is so strange to me. The Americans have cleared out of Heidelberg Germany after many years, and there are now tours of American homes and barracks being offered to curious Germans who were not allowed to enter before. I lived in one of these apartments from 1977 until 1980. (And by the way, we had Germans in our home all the time. Relatives stayed with us nearly every weekend.) In this video you'll get a tour of an apartment similar to the one I lived in (although it's updated and much nicer now), and get a glimpse of Mark Twain Chapel, which is where I was confirmed in 1978.
I haven't been back to Heidelberg since 1996.
