*Today is Stevie Nicks' birthday. She is featured in the Eckhartz Press book Everything I Know I Learned From Rock Stars. A photo of her with John Records Landecker (taken at the Playboy mansion) is also featured in the book Records Truly Is My Middle Name.
*On this day in 2005, Eckhartz Press author Joel Daly appeared on Steve & Johnnie's show on WGN. That interview is still out there, and you can listen to it here.
*On this day in 2020, Eckhartz Press author Roger Badesch appeared on Matt Bubala's show on WGN. You can listen to it here.
*Today is Jim Mahoney's birthday. He was a coach on the 1972 White Sox, and is therefore featured in the pages of the Eckhartz Press book Chili Dog MVP.
*Today is also Lenny Kravitz's birthday. Lenny rates his own chapter in Bobby Skafish's Eckhartz Press book We Have Company (Photo below: Bobby & Lenny)

Exciting news! My next book signing is Saturday at Austin’s in Libertyville from 2-4. Extra bonus—one lucky fan will leave with a Khalil Mack jersey courtesy of the fine folks from Sportsworld Chicago. I hope to see you there!— randymerkin (@randymerkin) May 24, 2022
Former Chicago mayor Jane Byrne was born on this day in 1933. Jane was a larger than life figure in Chicago and is featured in two Eckhartz Press books.
*Roger Badesch actually worked for her press office, and talked about his experiences with her in his book The Unplanned Life.
*John Landecker wrote two songs about her in his career. The story of one of those songs is an incredible tale involving the Jefferson Starship. That story is here, complete with the song itself.

Great event Saturday afternoon on the Northwest side at Paterno's Pizza. Dr. David Fletcher and John Owens were on hand to talk about their great new book Chili Dog MVP. They brought along a few guests including former White Sox slugger Carlos May and organist Nancy Faust. Thanks to everyone who came out to say hello and buy a book.
*Today would have been Joan Collins' birthday. We had Joan Collins on the John Landecker show once, and that story is told in the pages of the highly acclaimed Records Truly Is My Middle Name. It involves a pair of headphones she wouldn't wear, and an honest-to-goodness on-air confrontation.
