Burt Constable

At the end of last week columnist Burt Constable announced that he was leaving the Daily Herald. He will be missed from the paper. I'd like to wish him a happy and relaxing retirment.

Burt featured me in his column twice, twenty years apart.

The last time was actually on this day in 2019. It was an article about the worst jobs in the world. He talked to me about the job that was considered the absolute worst: Radio Producer. You can read that here.

The first time he wrote about me goes all the back to 1999. At that time, I was actually still a radio producer. It was about the national writing contest I won. You can read that here.

Eckhartz Everyday

*On this day in 2020, Eckhartz Press author Janet Sutherland-Madden was featured in the Daily Herald about her book Nose Over Toes.

*Today would have been Chicago gangster Sam Giancano's birthday. Sam was featured in the Eckhartz Press book Mob Adjacent, written by the Gentile brothers.

*One of the all-time greatest Cubs, Billy Williams, is celebrating a birthday today. Of course, he's featured in the book EveryCubEver.

Eckhartz Everyday

*On this day in 2015, the Daily Herald did a big writeup about me and my book Father Knows Nothing. If you are a Daily Herald subscriber, you can still read that article here. If not, like me, you can wonder what it says and imagine it's a glowing tribute. That's how I remember it.
