USA Saves Mexico

What a dramatic night last night for US Soccer. The Americans had already qualified for the World Cup and were playing against Panama. If Panama won, Mexico would have been eliminated from the World Cup for the first time in many years.

When regulation time ended, the score was 2-1 in favor of Panama. The referee awarded an additional three minutes of time (which is common) because of injuries, and during that extra time, the United States stunned the world by scoring twice. The 3-2 win eliminated Panama, and saved our arch rival (in soccer), Mexico.
