Wayne Shaw

Everyone in the soccer world was rooting for little known Sutton United in their game against Arsenal this weekend. Not only were they major underdogs (they are a fifth division club), they have a folk hero on their team. His name is Wayne Shaw, and he's a 280-pound backup goaltender. Here are a few of the tweets during the game...

This second one, however, may get him in trouble. Turns out that British bookmakers were offering 8-1 odds on whether or not he ate a pie during the game, and a few of Wayne's friends took the bet.

Also, Wayne admitted that he knew that.

Oh, and Sutton lost the game to Arsenal, 2-0.

UPDATE: Wayne Shaw has resigned from his positions on the team after an investigation was launched into a potential breach of betting rules.
