September 25, 2008…In Tel Aviv, more than 45,000 people attended a concert by Paul McCartney, 43 years after the Beatles were banned from playing in Israel because of official fears that they could "corrupt the nation's youth." He sang his solo hits as well as Beatles favorites, but the highpoint of the evening came when McCartney dedicated his performance of "Give Peace A Chance" to his late fellow Beatle, John Lennon, and sang about the folly of war, a theme that clearly resonated with the Tel Aviv audience.
