Shutting Down the Comments Section
Popular Science just announced they are shutting down the comments section on their website.
I'm 100% behind this decision. I've been campaigning for all news-webites to do the same. The vitriol in the comments sections of even the most banal articles is beyond belief.
Everyone has the right to free speech, but they don't have the right to it on every website. Those are privately owned.
If you feel an incredible urge to comment, create your own website or blog. It's inexpensive, and in some cases, even free. But you'll have to be accountable for what you say, instead of just peeing anonymous poison on complete strangers.
